Barcelona have outlined the full-back positions as key areas to strengthen for next summer, and Sporting Director Deco is already on the hunt. Three youngsters have emerged as players that the Blaugrana are tracking.
Although Barcelona have been in contact with Alphonso Davies’ agent to understand what the terms of signing him are, they still expect the Canadian to sign for Real Madrid next summer on a free from Bayern Munich. According to Sport, Barcelona are willing to bring in a top level option to compete with Alejandro Balde next summer though.
Ansu Fati’s injury will keep him sidelined until at least January, making a winter transfer unlikely. Barcelona had been open to a move to give him more playing time, with clubs like Sevilla and Fenerbahce interested. @sport

Two of the younger options being watched are Benfica’s Alvaro Carreras, and Wolves’ loanee Hugo Bueno. The Spaniard, 22, who joined Wolves’ academy in 2019, is currently on loan at Feyenoord and has been impressing in the Eredivisie. His Spain under-21 teammate Marc Pubill of Almeria was already considered in the summer by Barcelona for the right-back spot, and remains on their radar, after they could not muster the funds to bring him in.
Bueno has made 10 appearances this season for the Dutch giants, providing three assists. Meanwhile Carreras is also enjoying a fine breakout season at Benfica, where he has 4 goal contributions in 16 appearances. Manchester United have a buyback option of €20m on their former academy player, while Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are also watching him.
